Lilypie First Birthday tickers

Who are you?

Assalamualaikum. Peace be upon you.

It's been a while that I've written in English. Time to sharpen the English saw~

Lately, I've been watching a lot of videos on the Internet about non-muslims reverting to Islam.
(Revert is used, not convert anymore because we are born with fitrah, and only while we grow our parents shape us to be Muslims, Christians, Jewish etc. So when they embrace Islam, they are returning to Islam)

Those videos were very touching, simply because of their sincerity in sharing their story on how they found Islam. Don't we as 'free' muslims realise how blessed we are to be muslims and to be able to practice Islam? Do we ever stop to think about those people who don't have the luxury as we do.
Yes, being a muslim is a luxury. Right?

Why I choose Islam

I never did. That's a fact, because I never had to choose. I was born a muslim, and growing up, my parents taught me how to be a muslim. I went to school and had teachers who taught me about Islam. Granted, I wasn't the best muslim when I was a child, but I had that foundation. And with that foundation I was able to build on it and strengthen my faith as i got older and was able to think better. It wasn't hard for me to practice Islam, it wasn't hard for me to recite the Quran in Arabic (eventhough I still haven't mastered this beautiful language). Why? Because my parents taught me when I was little. I learned Islamic Studies in school. I was surrounded by muslims everywhere. I was born into a family that took faith seriously, and many more. The road to practice was made easier by Allah.

But what about others?
Many of the others out there, who may not have the privelege of being a muslim?

What excuse do we have for not sharing this beautiful deen we have with others?

1) I'm too busy with my own life and I barely even have time for myself!
2)They never asked..
3) Even if I do, they wouldn't want to believe me anyway. I'm sure they hate Islam.
4) Even I don't know much about Islam. If they want to know about Islam, then they should ask the people of knowledge. Not me!
5) and so on and so forth

Why are we so selfish in our acts as if Islam only belongs to muslims? And even if that is so, why don't we practice it with all our ability?

It's frustrating and it shames me to see that the people in the West, who have very little exposure to Islam, who wasn't raised to be a muslim, with the hidayah given by Allah azza wajalla, later embraces Islam wholeheartedly and THEY are the ones who fight for Islam.
Eventhough it may be our fault(muslims) that caused them to stay away.
The question is, do we think that the hidayah came to them in a blink of an eye? That just somehow, someday, they decided that Islam was the best way of life?

The answer to that of course is a no.

Who they are today, was because of what they did. How they acted. How they used the minds that Allah gave them.

They took the first step, and Allah guided them along the way.

Just look at our prophets, Nabi Ibrahim as and Nabi Muhammad saw... Did they suddenly one day get a revelation and knew which was the right path? No... their journey towards Allah was a journey that took them years of thinking, of watching, of listening.

So why are we so arrogant in thinking that everyday will fall into our laps nicely, wrapped in a ribbon and packaged in a gift?

That's very convenient, unfortunately very unrealistic.

Seek, and you shall find.
If you do not seek, than how shall you find?

The road in knowing Allah is a road that runs til we reach the end of our life in this world.
But how sure are we that we have much time left?

PERMAI 2010

Alhamdulillah, I had the chance to join this great program. PERMAI 2010 with the well known Ustaz Hasrizal Abdul Jamil (abu saif - www.saifulislam.com) as the main speaker.

PERMAI 2010

The theme for PERMAI#2 was "Islam dan Muslim, Dulu, Kini dan Masa Depan"
Congratulations to all the committee members and others who helped in making this a memorable event for all of us!

Islam and Muslim. Let's question ourselves;

We are muslims. But how "Islam" are we?

100%?
90%?
75%?
50%?
32%?
LESS?

Being a good muslim is the best way to reach out to others. Show them, what makes you believe that Islam is the one true path.

Not so sure?

Let's ask ourselves and find the answer in our hearts.
"Seek, and you shall find"

May Allah guide us all.

    this is a really nice entry. like this! hehe...

    i watched the video from ur YM, and i cried, why ar?? (dah keluar bahasa rojak dah..=p)
    coz we can feel the sincerity. we can share the feelings...we can feel the story.
    i wonder why ustaz-ustaz nowadays don't have that kind of 'feelings' talking about god and our prophet muhammad (pbuh) in their 'ceramah'.

    tapi bukannya nak salahkan penceramah, muslim sendiri pon salah sebab terlalu selesa dengan 'muslim warisan' tu. just title,tulis kat kad pengenalan,nothing more...

    malas mencari...
    malas menghayati makna hidup....
    malas mencari hakikat tuhan....

    orang muslim kena berubah jadi muslim realiti... and that includes me~

    btw, selamat ulangtahun ke 42, haha~ tua sudah..

    duha-

    who am i?
    why was i created?
    what is my purpose of life?

    Islam and muslim!

Nobody knows but Him. So never worry about others, worry about yourself first and foremost. okies?

    Baba Ali penah jugak tengok tp br dua video kot.. yg len blum lagi:D

    Hmm..video Rueben aka Abu Bakar tu dah tengok...Orang yang hidup tak pernah ada arah, logically speaking macam mana boleh berubah kalau persekitaran tak membantu kan?

    It just shows that hidayah Allah tak mengenal rupa, and what's important is what we do with what we have...and how we use them.
    Kan kan?
    Nak, seribu daya...

Reminder for the soul

“Aku hairan dengan orang yang mengetahui kematian, tapi mengapa ia masih tertawa;

Aku hairan dengan orang yang tahu bahawa dunia adalah sementara, tapi mengapa ia sangat mencintainya;

Aku hairan dengan orang yang mengetahui semua urusan telah ditakdirkan, tapi mengapa ia takut kehilangan;

pulkan harta dan menghitung-hitungnya;

Aku hairan dengan orang yang mengetahui panasnya api neraka, tapi mengapa ia tetap berbuat dosa;

Aku hairan dengan orang yang mengaku mengenal Allah, tapi mengapa ia meminta tolong kepada selain-Nya;

Aku hairan kepada orang yang mengaku mengetahui kenikmatan syurga, tapi mengapa ia merasa hidup tenang di dunia;
